New Life Foundation | Writing For Life
By Karin Hallberg
For me personally, writing is a lifeline. It helps me brand sense of the world I live in, it makes me construction upwardly messy thoughts, and information technology gives me the time for reflection I need to fully understand what is going on in my mind. Other people I have met here take a similar feeling about other artistic expressions; some spend 60 minutes after hour at the estimator making music, fully captivated by their creative flow. Others find their passion in painting, feeling that what is being made with colours and brushes is a mirror of themselves. Some people are blessing us with playing the guitar and singing in the Dining Hall, using their inventiveness to write beautiful songs. Later on the dancing workshops that were held here in the weekend I saw my friend returning with a big smile on her face, sharing that, "The dance has made me regain my energy". The appetite here at New Life Foundation is to give alternatives for different ways of expression then that everybody, regardless of their preferred channel, can enjoy their flow of inventiveness.
I instance of this is the Creative Writing Workshops, facilitated by New Life writer and life coach, Kim Roberts. The fundament of the workshops is that you certainly don't need to be a practiced author. Rather, you let out whatsoever intuitively comes to mind through the pen, scattered words as well as a fluent text. Nosotros normally kickoff the workshop with a grounding meditation, and after that the prompt for the day is introduced. This works equally an inspirational topic and can be, for example, "Who practise I desire to be?", "Transformational moments", or, "If merely". To engage other creative expressions, the writing is followed by articulating the prompt in painting or photography, by meditation, or through a walk in nature to let our surroundings to teach usa something almost what we accept just written.
My positive feelings about the Creative Writing Workshops have a lot to do with the freedom we tin enjoy when we write; the absence of any grammatical force per unit area and the freedom from any thoughts of perfection or correctness. It makes me feel less confused and more relaxed, since letting my thoughts and emotions out on a paper makes me recognize and understand them instead of having them spinning effectually in my head. Looking at these patterns with the assistance of creative channels helps me realize that thoughts that have made me experience lost, down, regretful or upset can actually exist turned into gifts and strengths, once they are accepted and understood.
